Kimie Muroya 室屋季美恵
(EMC, SAG-E)
Kimie Muroya 室屋季美恵 (she/her) is currently an Ensemble Member and Resident Actor with Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble (BTE), a professional resident theatre company located in Bloomsburg, PA. BTE serves a rural community, and is focused on bringing quality professional theatre, arts and culture to the Susquehanna Valley. BTE’s mission statement is one that attracted Kimie to work with them:
Professional Theatre. Arts Education. Ensemble Driven. Rural Pennsylvania.
For Everyone. With Everyone.
Several of Kimie’s formative years were spent in the Susquehanna Valley as a teen, and access to professional theatre through BTE was essential to setting her on the path to becoming the performer and theatrical artist she is today. It is a privilege to be able to offer the same sanctuary and growth to other young aspiring artists today.
Kimie also spent eight years as a part of the Philadelphia theatre scene and has worked with numerous local and regional theatre companies, such as Philadelphia Artists' Collective, InterAct Theatre Company, Theatre Exile, Hedgerow Theatre Company, Shakespeare in Clark Park, Quintessence Theatre Group, Montgomery Theatre, Delaware Shakespeare, and more!
You can also check out Kimie's feature film debut, playing a leading role in Antarctica, a new film by Keith Bearden! Antarctica premiered at the 2020 Raindance Film Festival in London, and is now available for free on Amazon Prime, and for rent or purchase on Youtube, Apple TV, Vudu, and more!
An advocate for diversity on the stage, she is one of the founding members of Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists (PAPA), a group that focuses on making known the work and presence of Asian theatrical artists in the Philadelphia area.
